Dr. Nicola Sleeman takes a broad and compassionate approach to general practice, drawing on years of hands-on experience across hospital wards and specialties. She started her career in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science from QUT, followed by a Bachelor of Nursing in 2006. Taking the scenic route, she eventually transitioned into medicine, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Notre Dame, Fremantle in 2010. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020.
Before settling into general practice, Dr. Nicola worked extensively in hospitals across a wide array of specialties—from general medicine and paediatrics to obstetrics, anaesthetics, palliative care, oncology, general surgery, and emergency medicine. This diverse experience gives her a solid understanding of both acute and chronic conditions, as well as a strong commitment to holistic, patient-centred care.
Dr. Nicola has a particular interest in child developmental health and women’s health, but is happy to support anyone, through all stages of life.
Known for her warm, down-to-earth manner, Dr. Nicola is passionate about making patients feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for—without ever judging their WebMD search history.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find her running after her young son, being managed by two highly opinionated sausage dogs and skillfully hiding online shopping packages from her husband.
Dr Sleeman operates her own medical services business at Kedron Wavell Medical Centre.
